We are proud to announce that Ladywood has been designated as an official Michigan Evergreen School for 2016 by the Wayne County Department of Public Services.
Wayne County schools can achieve the following Green School Designations based on the number of specified energy saving and environmental protection activities they complete:
Green: 10-14 points
Emerald: 15-19 points
Evergreen: 20 or more points
This year, due to the efforts of the entire Ladywood community, especially Mr. Mike Gaule, Ladywood science teacher, Ladywood received 26 points.
Ladywood is one of only four schools (out of approximately 120 schools) that has been designated as a Green school since the program started in 2006 and is one of only two schools that has had the highest designation (Evergreen) every year.
Congratulations to all on this significant accomplishment!
